Métis Finger Weaving
The Métis sash is a cultural symbol for the Métis people and a way to outwardly show pride in their Métis heritage. Learn the history of the sash and how it was a multi-use tool during the fur trade. Students will have a chance to examine various sashes and learn how they are made.
This hands-on activity is suitable for every grade level and a great 30 minute addition to a field trip.
